Ping-Sheng Wu is a Taiwanese artist working in sound and media, and a full-time Lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Program of Technology and Art, National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu. His work spans sound art, audiovisual performance, and media installation, and has repeatedly been selected for the Digital Art Festival Taipei, international media art festivals, and related awards; it has been presented at the Taiwan Biennial, Taiwan International Light Festival, Taiwan Lantern Festival, Yuejin Lantern Festival, Nuit Blanche Taipei, and Lacking Sound Festival. His works have been shown in group exhibitions and art festivals across Asia, Europe, and North America, where he has also undertaken artist residencies. He holds an MMus in Creative Sound and Media Technology from Bath Spa University, UK.
In 2024 he co-founded SYNZR, a media art brand whose audiovisual work The Boundary of Sense was selected for the National Taichung Theater’s 2024 NTT Arts NOVA program and world premiered that May. His fulldome work Temporal Strata toured North America in March 2026, with showings at FilmGate Interactive in Miami and SAT Fest Pro Day in Montréal. The co-created work ALGORITHMIC HARMONY premiered at Kunstfest Weimar, Germany, in 2024. His sound installation Anteriusound was exhibited at the 2020 Taiwan Biennial (NTMoFA, Taichung).
In 2015 he was part of the collective awarded First Prize at the 6th Digital Art Performance Award, and he was selected three times for the Digital Art Awards Taipei (2014, 2015, 2016). From 2016 to 2022 he was music supervisor at the media art company noiseKitchen. In 2019 he was selected for a residency at Triangle Arts Association in Brooklyn, New York, and chosen by Taiwan Sound Lab for the IRCAM ManiFeste artist exchange program in Paris; in January 2020 he took part in a research residency at EMPAC, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. In 2020 he joined the C-LAB CREATORS program, conducting creative research on Wave Field Synthesis.
His sound design work includes Black Hole Museum + Body Browser (official selection, Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2023) and Sensing Dark Matter (2025 tour at Asia TOPA in Melbourne, SPRING Performing Arts Festival in Utrecht, and the Taipei Arts Festival).
